You should be reaching your totals in increments thru out the day, so yes not eating a full serving of something is going to effect the charting count. If you can't eat a full portion of something, then take what is left, measure it, subtract it from the original portion size, chat what you consumed.
Once you chart it and see what the total is of the amount you consumed, if you have a shortfall in one of the macros you can pick another food to make that up.
