Hello I am new
I started low carb and joined here last week. So far I am doing well on the plan. My plan is moderate carbs , fat and protein. I have several diseases sickle cell anemia, diabetes type 2, and asthma. I though I would have a hard time with going Keto so I am starting with moderate carbs. I must stay very hydrated at all times. I drink plenty of water with lemon, sometimes I will add ginger. I would like to know if zero vitamin waters can count as hydration with the lower carb diet. Before I would drink them if I started to feel a bit hydrated. I also started drinking 88 Alkaline water.. I normally get in 6-8 cups of water, but am having a hard time going over 8. I will be 62 in a couple of weeks, and am more concerned with lowering my glucose than losing weight. Although I would like to loose around 10 pounds max. My glucose is doing much better. I have come down from a morning fasting number in the 200’s to 150 within the last week. My A1C doesn’t matter as I don’t have enough red blood cells to properly measure. I am enjoying the food , but occasionally have a carb craving.
