Being a picky eater and having a small budget for me, is actually an advantage. The unavailable options for me when I was on keto helped me keep on track with fasting and not eating as much as I usually had to plan and cook my meals accordingly.
As opposed to above, I do not recommend tons of deli meats and eat small portions of cheese. The best way to lose the weight is to utilize keto as a strategy to assist you in intermittent fasting.
The first week, while you are ditching your carbs, you will feel weird and have cravings, so the first week you need to go easy on yourself and find easy foods you can eat to satisfy yourself. I made tons of burgers and balanced it with broccoli as both are cheap to consume. Put some cheddar or similar cheese on the burgers, no buns.
You want to aim for a big satisfying and nutritious meal at night, and wait as long as you can after you wake up to eat. Aim for 8 hours of eating time, 16 hours of fasting. You will lose the weight in two months time.
Slowly work your way into excerizing as you adjust to ketosis. Maybe start with strength training, core/balance workouts and then make your way into cardio. Every day as you progress, try snacking less as you will see that keto normalizes your appetite and your anxiety cravings go way. Find something you can do that keeps you occupied and mind off food, instead of netflix, like videogames or work, or learning something.

Simply keep carbs at your desired limit, eat at or above your protein goal, and the rest is fat. Get fat in food over add ons like mayo, sour cream. Do cook your meat and veg in healthy oil or grass fed butter. If you’re satisfied and feel good, don’t eat more fat just to meet the fat grams. Fat is fuel for energy.
