Not new to Low Carb - but a new thinking 🤔

Over many years I have found the only way that I lose weight is by reducing carbs.  I’ve tried the low fat groups and found that I just didn’t budge, or a little but other factors made it intolerable. Over the years my body has really started to tell me what I can and can’t digest (I have IBS).  25 years of this diagnosis and you intrinsically start removing things from your diet after attacks.  (Sometimes just instinctively - like if you don’t like sprouts you always say no haha).  It’s no hardship right?

Since moving to Canada some 10 years ago, my body had to redo this list of ok foods (different countries allow different additives).  I’ve had many attacks, panic and stomach and have learned that HFCS is high in a lot of foods here. My body doesn’t like it, or sorbitol, xylitol and aspartame. Any of these have an immediate reaction on my tongue and it’s like you’ve just given me bleach :).  Don’t start me on Stevia although natural it does the same to me!! Blech!    So low calorie eating (because the fat is removed and often pumped with sugar/the above) is just the pits for me!

I know Keto will work, I know I will feel great and if I drop the 50-60lbs I need to I will be rocking and strutting my stuff in the most awesome outfits haha (you’ll find me outside of work in a hoodie/leggings and Blundstones always!).

At 44 we have two adult kids of 20/18 and I have a FT career.  Two dobermans, I love to tap dance, sing (I call it singing!) trance, hip hop and rap music.  đź¤Ş.  Love my kids to the moon and back and I am proud that although they have stomach reactions they are both very active (my son Elite Soccer player / my girl a soccer coach/great player with an anxiety disorder - she’s a tough cookie and is doing a great job navigating her challenges).  Both do better on high fat (one being told to do just that for she has a slow heart rate).

I remember all the 70/80/90’s advertising telling you to eat low fat!  Everyone is different.  Low fat to me is high sugar/fake sugars and yucky health.

imma do me!  đź‘ŤđźŹ»đź¤Ş  if I get to my goal I will apply for my dream job, leave my career and chase baddies for a living :)  the challenge my age/fitness.  But I am not gonna leave this world having never tried to get there!

Loads about me .... sorry🤗 -  but this is like therapy haha

Have a great Keto day!
