Me too! It's quite bewildering to start with as it's quite different and feels very restricted in what you can eat. I didn't realise so many veg would be off the menu. How are you doing?

  • Joanie I’m only on day 2 but that run down keto “flu” is creeping in. Which veggies are you going to miss?

Patrikemmert Hi, I'm struggling with keeping onions, tomatoes and peppers down, I was shocked that onions,  are so relatively high in carbs. They would frequently be the starting point for dinner. Also miss butternut squash as I'd replaced potatoes with that. At the moment it just feels like cabbage and broccoli all the time which is dull. But I need to look for more recipes and suggestions which I'm sure are out there. Sorry flu has hut you so soon, I had it about a week in and found drinking masses of water with a sprinkle of salt in it did the trick.

One thing that helped me to weather the keto flu was LOTS of water. Get used to drinking lots of water and peeing a lot too.

For me Keto really keeps the waterworks going.

Broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, asparagus, salad greens, spinach, zucchini, radishes,  broccoli slaw, and even peppers and onions are good.  I eat onions every day. Just a slice or two.  Non starchy veggies aren’t going to kick you out of ketosis.   Most people can eat up to 50g of carbs unless you are very insulin resistant.

Hello! I started Keto on 1/6/2020 and feel very fortunate that I haven’t had the Keto Flu. Overall, I am feeling really good. One of my friends has been doing this for a few years now and she said that drinking some  pickle juice or some tonic water helps  when you are feeling sick and/or with cramping.  Good luck!
