Hi! PLEASE Help Me Understand What I Am Doing Wrong?!?!?

Hi All!

Attached I have a chart that has been showing my daily macros for EVERYTHING I have put in my mouth since the end of December. Can anyone PLEASE explain why I still gain weight, or am not losing like I should?

Is the high fat not for my body type?

Too high or too low of a protein intake?

Carbs not right for me? The totals you see are All carbs not net.

I appreciate any and all productive feedback. If you would like more details, I use the Lose It App so I have everything documented, even down to recipes of custom dishes.

  • I see that you have lost weight since you started. Several things are important. Why are you doing a ketogenic diet? Lose weight, health reasons (diabetes)? If you have a lot of weight to lose you have to keep in mind that this isn't a short term "fix". There are reasons you are overweight and your body, given the correct fuel (clean, unprocessed foods) WILL heal and lose that excess fat. Sadly it does so how it chooses, not how we want. My suggestion to you is look at the loss over time. My weight goes up and down all the time. Normal function and such. But if over time the weight goes down, you ARE losing weight. You didn't gain your weight overnight, dont expect to lose it quickly. If you stick to it, maybe do some walking, not cardio, just an evening walk, that helps also.

    I agree 100%. Your weight loss average is over 2 pounds/week, even the last week. That's OPTIMAL weight loss. It's not advisable to lose more than that. If you want to lose 100 pounds, it will take about 9 months to a year. That's good! Hang in there. Remember why you're doing this.

  • My app set my macros lower than yours. Based off 218 lbs. I do 20 or less carbs a day, 77g protein and fat is 95g. Maybe try to adjust those? I do tend to go over protein a few days, trying hard to keep it closer, just new to tracking macros. Do you exercise? That might help lose more as well. With that being said, great job on the progress you have made so far! :)
