I have no thyroid due to cancer. My endo Dr. said I need to eat low carb high protein and high fat to lose the weight I have put on since losing my thyroid. It’s very frustrating because I feel hungry all the time. I am hoping this app helps me in my journey to be myself again.

I hope so too. Lots of reading with a nice black coffee. Getting into ketosis then being fat adapted will curb that hunger. Once you’re finding your way around the site, take a look at many of the free sites list under low carb chat topic, Favourite Self Education. 🌷

  • Be aware that if you don’t go high enough on fat, low enough on carbs and moderate on protein you won’t get into nutritional ketosis, which is when your body switches from burning carbs to fueling with fat.  If you stay in carb burning mode and cut carbs you’ll just be carb starved all the time.  There is a nice calculator at https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com.   It even directs you to a calculator that helps estimate body fat percentage.  It show you how much of each and even how many calories for maintenance versus weight loss.  This app is also very useful and is worth the upgrade fee.

  • welcome.  Fat helps with hunger at the beginning. I made fat bombs(half butter, half coconut oil with peanut butter and stevia)lots of recipes for different types. When I felt hungry in between meals I would eat one. They will curb the hunger. Be sure your meals are a good protein and fats. Check out the recipes on the app and pinterest etc.
