Hi Amanda. I started keto on Dec. 31st, and I'm down 8.4lbs. I think it takes a week or so to really get in a groove with balancing the macros and calories. When I started, some days I would only eat 600-700 calories. But now I'm closer to 1400, and my total calories allowed are 1772. Honestly, I've been eating 2 eggs with bacon or sausage every morning (but I'm a creature of habit). I save all the oil/grease from the bacon I cook so I can use it in other dishes. I cook my eggs in the bacon oil and add cream cheese to my eggs. I'll have a coffee with almond creamer.
I also intermittent fast, so my eating hours from 10am to 6pm. Outside and during those hours I drink 120oz of water with lemon.
Something that also helps me, is in the evenings, based on the food I have at home, I start entering the next day's meals. I do this so I can see where I'm getting too much/ not enough of macros or calories. This has probably helped me the most cause the next day I know exactly what I'm eating and I'm not blowing one macro to the limit while not reaching another macro.
Sorry for the long post. It can be tough starting the first week. Good luck!
