Food is fuel:)

I'm trying a low-carb diet again after about 15 years.   On my first attempt, I lost 30 pounds but did it for a  short-term loss not realizing then how important the diet is to a healthy lifestyle.   After a lot of research, I'm realizing the damage being done by inflammation in my body and that every time I eat refined carbs and sugar, my body burns them  for energy and even more fat is being produced by the insulin that is created from that consumption. I need to understand that food is fuel and my body should be burning the fat and it is starting  to do just that. Once I reach my goal weight I will add in healthy complex carbs and avoid sugar at all costs.  The point of this post is more of an epiphany for me and hopefully there are more people like me out there who are realizing the damage  that subcutaneous  fat can do to your midsection and all the dangerous hormones that are released to vital organs.   This will be a lifestyle change for me, I am also careful with the kinds of fats I'm consuming, I'm sticking with mono unsaturated and limiting saturated fat.   For me personally, I think the research is out there showing that regardless of if you're combining carbs and saturated fat that saturated fat is still not a good thing to put into your body at high levels.   I wish everyone luck on their journey, I'm looking forward to being stronger and healthier in about six months. :)
