Keto diet for picky eaters

I have been on keto for several months now and was tracking fine in the beginning not so much anymore. I never meet my macros and struggle to find food that is keto friendly that i like.

all of the things people say to eat are what I don’t enjoy.

avacodo is a huge one.

Lately i am not even that hungry anymore but I know even though i am losing weight im not doing it the healthy way. I also don’t really even meet my minimum calories. And i get scared of eating more for fear of gaining weight again.

how can i eat keto friendly as a picky eater?

I am new to Keto, and have an issue with giving up some things. What I would like to say is. You need to find the plan that works for you. Keto may not be the answer. See your doctor for help finding the right eating plan. Also, this app has other plans to consider. Go back to "getting started". The right one might be there. Good luck.

  • There are so many foods that are keto friendly. Can you find one or two and then search the recipes for that particular ingredient? Also, from what I’ve read, the further you get into ketosis the less hungry you are. You don’t have to eat all your calories if you’re not hungry.  Don’t go below 800 a day.  Just check your macro percentages in the in depth tab of the daily food log and keep close to your goal.

Hey, So I am super new to this and haven't even started my keto diet yet. But I did figure something out last night that might work for you too. First off I am over 300 pounds now and am very picky, I eat pretty much no veggies at all, there are only a few that I do like.  So I decided to create a meal myself that I would enjoy that still meets all the goals. In my case cauliflour rice is something I'm ok eating. So I added 3 cups of cauliflour rice which I think is a fair amount but you could easily add more and still be ok. Then I added pork meatballs and Bacon to it. Then make some gravy from the left over fats and juices from cooking the bacon and meatballs and some ground flax seeds to thicken it. Salt and pepper to flavour. It all ended up being 5g of carbs, 65.5g of fats, 80.5g of protein and 989 calories. And I just mix it all together as a meal. Now to you this might be disgusting because I don't know what you do like and don't. And maybe I'm way off because I am new to this. But I think the point I'm making is figure out what ingredients you  do like and what values they have and just make your own foods that you will look forward to. I hope that helps 😊

I hear ya...I miss some food too.  I am a person who lost 80 pounds in 18 months about 15 years ago - and kept it off.  Over the years I had great success with Atkins (low carb), Weight Watchers (low fat), diet/exercise (moderation) and recently with Keto (low carb/high fat).  BUT, it has been my experience when doing "diets" that exclude food types, it was never a long term solution.

For me, Keto is only a short term thing to get the weight loss jump started.  I actually will cycle through Keto and then moderation/counting calories, then Keto, then back.  I rarely do Keto for more than a week to 10 days...because...ice cream!    :-)

With Keto, I lost 4.4 pounds in the past 7 days (2.5% of my current weight).  IMHO - Keto is very cool for a short time but for me, moderation is the long term solution.
