Newbie here

Hi All I’m New, , well, I thought I started “Keto” on July 5th, I thought I was doing great, now I was doing this on my own cause I know what carbs, proteins are, never heard of a MACRO in my life until recently. I am a type 2 diabetic that just started insulin, so mainly I want to get my sugar levels down to get off of insulin as That has made me gain weight, and of course, lose weight,I’m 5’ 11”,  I weigh 215, so as I’m going about my business, I’m feeling great, never experienced any of the “Keto” issues, such as flu leg cramps, etc. so today Aug 25, I’ve been diligent about everything I’ve been eating. Haven’t cheated once, my sugars are down where I’m not doing insulin anymore, I got on the scale, as my pants are a lot looser, so I know I’ve lost inches, to my surprise, I’m 215 lbs, STILL!!! So I’ve finally decided to do this carb manager app, I’m jumping in head first, I’m a premium member, oh yes, if I’m going to do this, I’m doing it lock stock and barrel!!! That said, I’m a fish out of water, this app is very overwhelming, this is all new lingo!! I do cook, I’m glad for all of the recipes. I sure hope you die hards can answer some questions as they come up cause im going to have a lot!!  My first question is.....HOW DO I START!!! Lol!!!

Hi keve711, I'm also a newbie. Started August 15th. Did some deep research on all of the Keto information, hence now I've started. I would recommend reading a lot of material here on carbmanager, but also DietDoc.com . So much information and gives you many visuals on what your diet should consist. I go into carbmanager and set up the next day and plan the whole day and look to make sure I'm in the range of where I should be. Then I change recipes around and then add or subtract food/portions to make everything fit. I stay away from fruit and try to only eat leafy green veggies. No starchy veggies at all. I start off with a really good breakfast...everyday. 2 eggs made with butter scrambled or made into an omelette with cheese, salt and pepper. 1 cup of coffee with half/half - 2tsp. I used to have coffee with splenda, but gave that all up. In two weeks I've lost 5.2 lbs and am thrilled. It seems you've done well if your clothing is so much looser. I'm waiting for that to happen! I'm never hungry and have no cravings for chips or bread or pasta or rice. I was never a sweet eater anyway, so not craving them is no big deal. I measure and weigh everything and if it goes in my mouth, I count it on Carbmanager. DietDoc.com helped a lot with videos, recipes and visuals. But Carbmanager, I found, made everything so easy. For now I live it completely and am enjoying it. Good luck to both of us!!!!

Hi I’m having a hard time finding how much protein and fat I’m supposed to have to stay in keto. Carbs seem straight forward. Can anyone tell me where in this app I can find this?
