Does Low Carb Really Work

Hey all. I have a few questions. I’m 46 and weigh almost 320 pounds. In my 20’s I basically did the Atkins and kept my carbs under around 20 grams. I’m trying this again as I have no other choice. I’m so obese it’s hard to even move. In my older age it’s difficult to do keto. How many carbs is considered low carb in order to still facilitate weight loss? Thanks.

Keto is the easiest and most effective plan I’ve ever succeeded on!  Join CarbManager follow the plan they recommend for beginners, 20 carbs was mine at the beginning plus fats and protein macros.  Stick to the basics, if you like to cook there are tons of recipes available also.  I’ve been on the plan for 17 months and have lost 120lbs so far.  I’m thrilled, it’s a way of life forever for me, no going back.  Make yourself a mantra and repeat it to yourself whenever you feel like straying off the plan and every morning noon or night.  I’m 71 age doesn’t deter you your mind does.  I wish I had found Keto at 46 or earlier!  You can do this!  Good luck!

Sharon gave some solid advice; obviously she's got it down!  I would encourage you that 46 is really young.  I'm 57 and have felt 80 for a long time (decades) but with keto (and intermittent fasting) there has been so much healing going on.  I think if you latch on to what really matters to you, then you have your "why."  It's important to know your why.  I like my eyes and my limbs.  I really don't want to be a burden to family members.  That's my why. Starting Keto back in January I enjoy non scale victories as well as the scale victories.  I've dropped three sizes.  I have so much energy I don't know what to do with myself!!  I practice intermittent fasting and I've seen some interesting healing......moles reducing in size (autophagy?), floaters disappeared from my eyes, knees that don't hurt, elbows & wrists no longer keep me up at night.....so many improvements.  Just focus on why, resolve to STAY WITH IT  (even if you hit a long plateau) and learn to enjoy new foods - you will soon forget about the old.  Good luck, my friend!
