Coming off Keto

I have reached my target weight successfully on Keto and would now like to come off Keto without bouncing back. Any advice on how to safely come off Keto without putting my weight back on?

KETO has many health benefits other than weight lose, I'm not sure I'll ever go "off" KETO, it's just a way of life now.  A "Maintenance" Keto lifestyle would be the same as any other maintenance lifestyle, adjust your macros to a point where you are comfortable.  Everyone is different but probably in the 50 g Carb range.

     Reintroduction of Carbohydrate

Dr Jake Wilson's research determined that the most effective method of coming off Keto is to go slow with adding carbohydrates.

Wilson research found dramatically increasing carbohydrates increased body weight.

Wilson found it was better to..

    1) Increase you carbohydrate intake about 100 gram per day for around the for the first three days.

    2) The following three days, days 3 - 6, increase your carbohydrate intake up to around 200 gram per day.

    3) Days 7-10, increase your carbohydrate intake up to around 300 gram per day.

The determinate factor in the above recommendation is on how many carbohydrates you want to maintain your carbohydrate intake at.

Let look at a similar approach...

    The Atkins' Diet

Atkins is not a Ketogenic Diet, as many believe.

Atkins starts of as being Keto.  However, once you reach you weight objective, you slowly add carbohydrate back in.

Atkins recommends that as you increase your carbohydrates, you weight yourself to see how you are doing.

When you weight begins to increase, you decrease carbohydrate intake.

It like Goldilocks, you keep weight to determine what's just right for you.

Metaphorically speaking, it like Goldilocks finding one porridge being too hot, one too cold and the other just right.

    This is a good approach.
