Looking for keto snacks

Hey everyone.

I made it my new years resolution to go keto after failing this time last year. One of my biggest weaknesses are the sweet snacks (not the biggest savoury fan). It's mid-afternoon I get the worst cravings, has anyone tried anything which is worth recommending? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Helen,

I don't follow a keto diet myself but my husband does and he found this quite difficult to. I'm always on the lookout for new products to add to the shopping basket and have recently found a company called Suzero, who make snack bars. He has only tried their Maple and Pecan bar currently as that was the only one they had up on Amazon at the time (I think they are new) but he swears by them and has one a day. We will be making another purchase very soon!

I hope this helps and hope you find something soon!

    Hi Rose,

That sounds great, I haven't seen them in the shops (I normally look in Holland & Barrett) and haven't found anything I like. I just had a look and it look's like they've got a good range of bars so fingers crossed they taste good! Thanks for your help, please let me know if you know any other snacks /  recipes which help your husband!

  • Hello! I am the same way. Sweets are my weakness for sure. Birch Benders makes a keto pancake/waffle mix that I add Lilly’s chocolate chips to... and some good quality sugar free syrup too! Yum. Same company also just came out with really great microwave cups in a few different flavors (brownie, birthday cake, blueberry) they are super convenient just add water to and they are delicious when you get that craving.

If you can’t find those cups at the store you can just make the mug cakes at home.

I allow myself to have some of the Atkins snacks. That has been a life saver for me. My son try’s to take them often. The peanut butter cups and the M&M looking ones. Makes me feel like I’m not missing out. Don’t do them every day though.

  • If you try to avoid sweet keto treats altogether in the beginning the sugar cravings will go away. For some people even eating keto sweets will encourage the body to continue to crave sweets. It will be an ongoing struggle. I’ve also read that often when you think you want sugar your body really wants salt so what not try eating something salty to see if that takes away the cravings?

I know it isn’t easy, but after a week or two the cravings should go away if you avoid all sugars. The only sugars should be from the vegetables you eat, especially if you just starting out.
