Not reaching my daily fat goal

Hello I'm new here been doing this about a week I noticed I'm consistently having trouble reaching my fat goal and I'm usually over my protein but I'm getting better about that. Does anyone have any advice how I can increase my fat intake. I'm already adding heavy cream to my coffee and my scrambled eggs and I use olive oil when I cook or roast anything. I also can't have nuts so they're not an option. Thanks!

Avocados and coconut butter (not oil) are great snacks packed with healthy fat and low in protein.

  • You dont want to go over on your protein intake as it will turn into glucose. This will raise your insulin levels and knock you out of ketosis or inhibit your ability to enter it. So watching your Protein and Carb intake is especially important, because ultimately--they both turn into glucose if consumed in excess of your macro ratios.

One way to add fat other than bulletproof coffee if you are having a problem hitting your fat goal is to eat an avocado with one of your meals. And you can use any of the following: olive oil, coconut butter, coconut oil, mct oil, ghee, and let's not forget good old fashioned butter (while slighty higher in saturated fat, if you are having a problem hitting goal, butter will usually fix it).

    Good luck!

  • Bullet proof coffee solved that problem for me. I use coconut oil, Ghee, or you could use MCT oil as well as your heavy cream in your morning coffee. It always gets me to the correct ratio of fats and protein. Also, do what you can to not go over your protein macro, this can throw your fat ratio off as well.
