Day 4 Keto, question about Fitbit calorie adjustments

Just started kept diet, on day 4 under 29 carbs which is my Carb Manager setting.  Can't find much info so far with regard to Fitbit calorie adjustments and carb manager.  CM wants me to eat about 2400 cal, but after Fitbit adjust, I am consistently ending up with a 1000+ calorie deficit!!!  Is this okay?!??!

BTW:  I'm switching over from calorie counting, low fat/high exercise diet, originally lost 35lbs doing that but have been stuck at 235 +- 5lbs for almost a year.  Lift weights about 4 days with 2-3 days of cardio per week.  I'd like to get down to 205lbs.

I'm in the same situation and I too was wondering where I should keep my calories at.  I'm very active and spend about an hour at the gym 3-4 days a week and go for walks up the mountain road by my home most evenings weather permitting.  My FitBit daily caloric burn averages 2500-3000 calories daily.  Since starting this on 4/1, my net caloric intake has been as low as 7 and us much as 756.  I don't want to put myself in starvation mode but I am by no means hungry.  I too lost almost 50 pounds doing low calorie/low fat and exercising, but after hitting menopause found that wasn't working anymore.  In the past four days, since starting the Keto, I've kept my carbs under about 15%, and have lost 5 pounds which is great and I feel great, but worried that I should be somehow eating more.  Any suggestions?

  • Wow, Nita!  Great job losing the first 50!  I am still Keto, feeling okay, but haven't lost much since my original post.  We look like we live similar lifestyles, I go to the gym 4-5 days and trail walk in mountains with my dog almost every day.

Feeling pretty good as well, but a little frustrated with the lack of rapid weight loss that most seem to report.  I'm down almost 8 lbs in about 6 weeks.

Still concerned with the caloric deficit question in OP.

Good luck and keep it up!
