Want to loose 2 lbs a week but I’d have to go to 1000 calories a day. I’m sedentary 61 yr female. Is this healthy?

    Hey Deanna,

If I were you, I wouldn’t focus on all those numbers to begin with. First off, I’d log what I’m eating now to see where my carb intake was and then the next day see if I could drop that somehow and then over the next few days keep adjusting my food until the carb grams were where I wanted them to be. Then  go for a while to get used to that and make sure I felt ok and if I did, I’d start to work on my fat and protein numbers. I like to do things methodically so as not to take on too much at once.

As far as being sedentary, could you manage a small walk once a day? Maybe after dinner to help you digest? I always found that used to help after a big meal. Not that I’m having those anymore. ;]

My other thought would be to take all your measurements now and then not again until you’ve gotten into the groove of your new eating/exercise pattern. Why stuff up your brain with thoughts of “is this working?” when you’ll be able to tell by how you feel?

    Good luck!
