New to everything

Hi. I am new to this app as well as this diet, today is my fist day. I have done some research online and just finished my first "low carb" shopping trip. How long does it normally take for your body to start burning the fat or to reach ketosis? Also any advice is very welcomed, I still have a lot to learn about this and have read some conflicting things online so I'm not sure.

    Everyone is different. Start by guiding with the urine ketone strips. Then if your really dedicated, the blood ketones meter can be a decent guide. I was turning the strips dark red for awhile- now being "fat adapted" I don't turn them dark colors and my blood meter is lower reading. Read all posts here. We have some great contributers that may help guide you along your journey. Most importantly- try not to cheat first month or two. And remember the hangover affect is normal for awhile for some. I'm totally over that now thank goodness and if I do cheat now- my whole body feels inflammed- and throbbing. Lots of fat in beginning . Add butter and oils to everything. My favorite is shrimps in butter w/ slices of avacados. Steak dipped in butter w/ Brussels or salad.

    For me 3-5 days- but weight loss about 3 months- sedentary lifestyle.
