I'm struggling to understand how the fasting hours are calculated. I have set my meal times but the math just doesn't add up in the fasting chart. Can someone explain what meal times on a given day its looking at. For instance, I ate at 1:30 pm on Friday, did not eat again until 1:30 pm on Saturday. That seems somewhere right around 24 hours, but I got 18.5. It's very mysterious. Other days don't seem to align with my recorded meal times either.

Hi all, sorry for the delay! We do read these forums, but our responses might be a bit delayed. Here's an article from our support center explaining fasting times: https://help.carbmanager.com/advanced-features/how-is-fasting-time-calculated
Please let us know if you have any questions about this. Thanks!

I followed the link provided by CM moderator above and understand how CM calculates “fasting”. I don’t think that “the number of hours a day you’re not stuffing your face” is how most of us define fasting although it IS one way to calculate it.
CM Mods, can the fasting tab be configured to define & display fasting as “the number of hours between the last food in a calendar day and the next time you eat”? That way, a fast from 2pm Saturday to 2pm Sunday would show 24hrs. I think that’s how most of us track our fasts.
I like the current ability to “clear” the time to not break fasts when logging supplements, electrolytes, etc. please retain this feature in some form or fashion.
thanks, love the app and just renewed.

Is there a way to set a default time for a particular food item, or to specific a caloric limit for what constitutes breaking a fast? I have black coffee in the morning and Carb Manager treats that as something that breaks a fast, unless you Clear the time every time you add it which is easy to forget to do.
I was hoping there was a way to set the default time (e.g. none) for a particular food item OR that you could set a default (e.g. 5 cals) for something that would be considered to break a fast...
