Splenda & Keto

I tried Swerve and it tasted like trash and did nothing to sweeten my coffee. I like Splenda and it takes only 2 packets to get my coffee juuuuust right.

Now, I hear Splenda is bad because it has both Maltodextrin and Sucralose. Sucralose would be ok, but the Maltodextrin isn't because it raises your GI (glycemic index).

I also get the higher (on a scale of 100) the food is on the GI, the faster the carb burns. But, my question is, what does it matter if it spikes your blood sugar as it relates to Keto?

I am dirty Keto and in a few months I'll transition to lazy or clean Keto, but for now I'm just trying to get the hang of it.

Thanks for helping out

Jenny

Spiking blood sugar cause the body to release insulin which inhibits fat metabolism. Too much insulin will stop the breakdown of fat into ketones.
