Hello Gretchen 👋
welcome to the forum and I hope you can soon enjoy your own journey.
Sounds like you have got off to an awful start. Keto flu is the result of not getting enough electrolytes. Especially with going to the gym so much. Potassium, sodium, magnesium for starters. We need large amounts again, especially at the beginning of our Keto journey. I would even go so far as to say give yourself a couple of weeks off the gym until you recover as you would medical flu. Could you perhaps go for a walk instead, much gentler on your body which you are currently asking to change it’s fuel burning habits established over a lifetime.
Heap lots of rock salt onto everything, (I love Himalayan pink rock salt but any will do) and I mean onto everything too, as much as you can tolerate. I think you will soon start to feel the benefits. Unless you have sodium linked hypertension? Then salt has to be regulated.
Grab yourself a mug of something hot (black coffee for me) bone broth is fantastic, and enjoy as much time as you can browsing old posts and some of the many links to be found in ‘Favourite Self Education finds’ listed under low carb chat. With lots to learn, anytime spent savouring them is NEVER time wasted 😀🌷
by for now, Joanna (in England).

Joanna my start was far from awetul. In fact the keto flu was remedied with in just a few hours. This week I was able to go to a church dinner bring my own meal totally enjoy myself and even went out to lunch with my husband on Friday all without missing a Beat. I am currently in a nice cozy bed in an RV on a camping trip less than 30 miles from my home. I have all of my food and other necessities and I feel good. My first week is down and I look forward to my way in on Monday.
