New and having difficulty

Hi, I am looking to start keto soon, just researching at the minute. I have put all my measurements in the app and it is offering me 965 calories per day, 12g of carbs this seems really low and I can't figure out what I've done wrong

    Not sure you’re doing anything wrong. I set my settings for ketogenic, then gave myself a calorie allowance of 1500 calories.

    It figured my carbs at 19. 

    In my opinion, 965 calories is very low. I don’t know your weight loss goals and that may certainly factor in. Before you change what the app calculated for you, try it. See how it works for you. If you’re going keto, then the carbs will be extremely low. That’s the point. Carbs = sugar. On keto you’re retraining your body to burn fat for fuel instead of sugar. 

    I’m only 2 months into this. And 30 pounds lighter than when I started. It definitely works. And it’s pretty easy.

  • I didn't know you could change the calories, oops. I set it to loose 2lb a week and it said 965 calories. If I change it to 1lb it gave me 1200 calories which is more realistic. I'll have a play around. Thank you.

    That does seem very low. From what I read your want to aim for 30-50 carbs a day to enter into ketosis. Make sure your height and weight are entered correctly
