Debby

I am 67 years old and active. I had foot surgery a few years back and gained alot of weight. Do to foot hurting sometimes I am not every active.  I let the program set my macros based on my weight. Not losing any weight. Lost a few inches due to water weight. Macros are set at 23 net carbs. 119 Fat. 97 Protein and 1545 calories. I do socialize and have a few vodka or gin drinks with no calories or sugars or Michlob ultra beer. I add these to my daily log and try not to go over the net carbs. Need help please. Considering quitting.

Hi, I am finishing my 5th week tomorrow. So far 22# loss, hopefully more tomorrow.  I let the app calculate my macros also the first 3 weeks. I was told by a woman doing keto for over a year(lost 100+) that I need to set the calories to 1200 to 1300 calories and then the macros will set accordingly. I changed mine to 1212 calories. My max carbs are 15 now. Most people I’ve seen try to keep carbs under 15. There are calories and carbs in alcohol. I think it’s unrealistic for people to never drink, but there are clean keto people who are against any. Recently I found some Zero sugar vodka that comes in 3 different flavors. 0 carbs and 48 calories per shot. I use a stevia sweetened tonic. 0 calories and 0 carbs. I would consider buying urine ketone strips to see if you are in ketosis. You should lose weight if your in ketosis. After you are in ketosis you could try intermittent fasting. I started this about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I found it quite easy. The are good You Tube videos about keto and intermittent fasting. This life style change takes huge commitment everyday and all day. Hi I am 70 and my macros aren’t set ant where near yours. I have been on keto for over a year and it has worked for me. My macros are 21 /74/67. If they are to high it won’t work with your body. You can adjust them. I know I can’t really eat more than the 21 carbs or I will be in trouble.  Oh by the way my name is Diane.

Hi all, I am Lori. I am 60 yrs, 175lbs (from 187) and have been strict keto since 12/26/19. I have lost 12lbs, but I know the first week or two I was losing water and inflammation from my holiday bingeing!  I am 5'1 and am not terribly active- I try to walk to work and back (3 miles round trip) 3-5 days a week, but that's it. My macros are set to 14/88/71 and 1132 cals. I love this app because it is so easy to log that I actually do it! (I have been a terrible logger in past years) If I go too much over the set macros I am in trouble and do not lose. I test ketones with a blood monitor. I have read that after a couple of weeks the urine sticks are not accurate.

Hello, I have been doing keto for 6 weeks and still do urine sticks daily. They still work. I have heard around 2 months they usually quit working. I read up on how to tell when your body is in ketosis without buying the expensive blood prick gadget.
