Newbie Question about Net Calories
Hi there, I’m trying to figure out the net calories. Are we supposed to end the day with a negative figure if we are trying to lose weight? After ending my daily logging and adding my exercise, it says I have 526 of 1350 net calories. Does one need to be in the negative to lose weight? Or because I am under 1350, I’m on my way to losing? Thanks for any input.

no, i don't bother with the exercise thing. I just notice my calories and by just watching my net carbs which is what you're supposed to be watching (not calories), I just happen to always be under my target calories amount. Not by much, but within. Ignore the calories. Follow Net Carbs and be sure you eat more than 1000 calories a day. I suppose more if you're an exercise maniac. I'm not. I sat on my butt and still the weight fell off. Love keto.

I'd ignore the fitbit if all you did was ordinary walking. I don't know how old or big you are but to me, 1800 is a lot to take in in fat and protein. I didn't use that feature at all. I told Carb Manager I was sedentary and thus it gave me fewer calories per day than it gave you. I did go for occasional long walks for my heart and head and if it helped, ok. I suggest not getting so technical with this and keep the concept of it only. Eat your 70% fats, 25% proteins, just fish, meat salad, dairy etc. That's it. keep it simple. Stop trying to calculate so much. Live a little! :-p

LoC Aha! That's the culprit! I'm glad you solved the mystery! In a few days you'll start to pee a lot and that's your welcome to ketosis or for me it was anyway. Get under 20g of net carbs per day. Net carbs not total carbs. That's total carbs - fibre grams - any sugar alcohols listed. Avoid all fruit except for berries and you should be rocking it pretty soon. On your way!
