Hi!!

I’m not new to Keto. I’ve done it in the past and was very successful. Even when I went back to eating high carbs, it took a while for me to gain weight back compared to just watching calories. My husband has been doing it for 2 weeks and has lost 10 pounds. I started yesterday. I’m so excited for this app! When I did Keto in the past, there wasn’t an app for it because everyone thought it was super unhealthy. Now that research has supported Keto, more people are doing it and it’s working!

I’m 29 years old. I’m 230 pounds and 5”4”. Prior to having my daughter I got down to 180 pounds by having a vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery. I started out at 300 pounds prior to having surgery. The surgery worked but I didn’t do my part to get healthy. Sure, I can’t eat as much at one time but I can constantly graze and load up on a bunch of carbs throughout the day. So I am where I am and now I need to do something about it.

I want to lose weight to feel better about myself. I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis and losing weight would help my pain and inflammatory levels.

Here we go! Good luck everyone!

Hello 👋 & welcome to the forum. You have some fabulous advantages to focus on ~ success on Keto (we can’t wait to hear what worked so well) a husband following Keto, youth, (i’m 56) and this app which really is so much better than doing it alone and as you say, things have moved on in Keto as it is emerging from the Atkins / bodybuilding beginnings into something truly wonderful & accepted in ever widening medical & scientific fields. Your sleeve will make a massive difference once you use it correctly. Why oh why don’t they teach Keto to bariatric patients?!  I would love to go into that field of nursing but my nursing days are behind me, my professional qualifications not kept uptodate which in the U.K. is a legal requirement. TMI sorry. Grazing is the undoing of bariatrics..... carbs being the easiest to consume, old school nutritionists fail to fully explain repeatedly.

inflamation is reduced with Keto, I am sure you remember, my Dad had ankylosing spondylitis so I am sorry you have it especially so young. Hope you have good physiotherapists.

look forward to chatting later, enjoy many of the older posts.

Hey there! You and I are similar in some ways. Ive done keto successfully before, as well. I too got pregnant and gained some weight, so now here I am, again! I've only been back on the keto train since October 30th, so not too ahead of you. So far I've lost about 5lbs.

Welcome to the app, and to the forum! I'm looking forward to seeing your updates!
