New and confused

Hi, I’ve been doing the low carb diet for 3 days. I downloaded the app today and entered my bio stats and goals, then it set my calories to consume and carbs. Its now the end of the day and I’m 1 net carb  short (17 out of 18), 16 total carbs short, and 500 calories short. And short of fat but 2 over on protein Im so confused. Should I eat more or call it a win?

  • I actually don’t worry about those counts that much. As long as I am not eating any starch, grain or sugar, my carbs are sometimes low, fats a little higher, and protein usually low. I think it is more important to be on target, or close to it for the week. I am often way below daily calories, but if I feel full, I don’t try to make it up. On days when I go out to a restaurant and eat more foods at a meal, I may be over, but it usually works out over the day or week.

  • That’s kinda what I’ve ended up doing. No sugar, no grain. Staying as close as possible. My calories are often short too. How much weight do you average losing in a week?

  • canegal75eafe I’m losing about 1.3 pounds per week. I think three days is a bit quick to judge. Your body is adjusting to new macro amounts and water weight may be fluctuating. I weigh every day and my weight can go up 2 lbs in a day, then slowly drop again. Are you reading up on this? I recommend....
