To use the calorie deficit, go to ‘Settings’ and ‘My Profile’ to set up your height, weight, etc.
Then go to ‘Macros’ and set the Weight Loss slider to zero (just to start things off). Then go down to ‘macronutrient goals’ and from the drop down menu, select the one of your choice (the ‘keto’ Option is a good place to start - you can change it any time once you get more familiar with the app). This will auto-populate your macros, based on your earlier height/weight entries.
Now go back to the Weight Loss slider and move it to the left for weight loss (or right for weight gain) until you reach your desired monthly weight loss/gain goals (the weight loss/gain numbers update as you slide the bar, as do your macros).
once you get what you want to do, tap “APPLY MY MACROS” in the blue box and that’s it.

JediMadre calorie deficit is the shortage of calories compared to the calories needed to sustain a particular weight. When you have a calorie deficit, you do not have enough calories to sustain weight and you will loose weight as a result. In the example you gave, you would lose five pounds per month.
