Newbie here and would love some help. Thanks!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi everyone, my name is LuAnn I have been on keto tomorrow will be 3 weeks. First week I lost 10 lb, second week I lost two and a half pounds, and 3 days later, I gained 5 lb back! Anyway what I really need to know is with this carb manager, it's telling me that my protein should be 52 when somewhere else I was told that my protein should be 73. How do I change this on there because it keeps telling me I'm going over. I don't know if I picked the right ratio I don't even know how you know which to choose.

Congratulations on your progress ๐ŸŽˆ.  You can go to Settings and then Macros to make changes.  The Keto Carbs : Protein : Fat ratio is 5:25:70 but there are others and you can customize.

  • Gina hi Gina. Thanks for replying. I don't understand these percentages at all. Can you explain the ratio to me please? I don't get how do I know which other one to choose? Just  please explain how these numbers work. Thanks so much.

  • Gina  one more thing hun, I took one of those quizzes and actually two of them and they came back almost the same. Is this what everyone goes by or am I supposed to ask the doctor or something what my ratio should be or does it just go by someone's weight? I mean do I just go by what the quiz told me I need to do? Or, is there some other real quiz from carbmanager?

LuAnn Mastrangelo Keto Macro ratio is 70% of calories from fat, 25% of calories from protein and 5% of calories from carbs.  One of the benefits of the CM app is it can be used for many different ways of eating.  There are 9 other ratios you can choose or customize your own.  You should do a little research and choose the one you are most comfortable with.

It is always a good idea to consult your Dr. before starting a weight loss plan.  Especially if you have any ongoing medical conditions. Once you choose the one you want to follow, answer questions in Getting Started and the app will calculate for you.  If you have already done this, you can go to Settings and then Macros and adjust.

You should not drop below a daily calorie goal of 1200, or you risk slowing your metabolism.  For 1200 calories that's 15g net carbs max, 75g protein and 93g fat as goals.  If you go into your settings, you can manually set your daily calorie goal and the app will calculate your macros.  If you are unsure of the results, I can calculate it for you, the math is pretty simple.  I think there are also online calculators.
