Hardly losing any weight!

Hi, where's all that weight loss people talk about? I've been on keto (checked with strips) for 6 days, feel terrible from the keto flu, and have lost less than a pound. My calorie intake is around 1600 and I do 1 hour of Pilates twice a week. I'm following the calculator and I don't get the exact numbers but pretty close (e.g. 100 or 115 / 109 grams of protein or 115/122 of fat). I changed my plan to ketosis to cut down the carbs even more (was in 35 net and dropped to 25 because I never really reached 35 anyway). Help! What am I doing wrong? I'm getting discouraged 馃槩

  • It is really more about percentages based on individual calories, as below.  Percentages here of your total calories which for everone will be different so that each persons individual gram of each macro will be different.  For example  one person might be allowed 93 g protien while another 103 g protien because the second person's calorie intake is higher.  Does that make sense?  So follow the percentages below of your total calories and you should loose weight.  If you are still hungry, shoot for the higher end of fat and lower end of protien. Fat keeps you feeling fuller longer.

laurel.johnson thanks! I find it hard to eat more fat and keep the calories to 1,500. Need to work on better menus. I've been eating like you say but still losing sloooooowly. But hey, I'm losing weight at least.

alegarza7 you will start to see faster results 3-4 months in. For 1500 cal that very well be too much of a defiency for you with doing Pilates, cardio, and running around after kids. Lol. But wait the three mark or more and try on smaller cloths you could hardly fit into. Put away scale for awhile. I only lost about 11 but feels like more because these jeans I couldn't get past my lower thigh now can go over by derri猫re.

alegarza7 also remember. You don't have to eat the 1500. If it's less because your just not hungry, fast a little. Try to get some suplliments to help the thyroid and adrenals, liver, etc.

    Biotin

    Flax seed oil cap

    vit c

    Vitex- fruit chastberry

    physilium husk caps in evening

Most of these are divided am/ pm  beef liver in morning (4)

I tried Niacin and I had a huge flush of weirdness - thought I was having an allergic reaction. I am preheart disease and thought this would be good for my cholesterol, so I need to find non flush Niacin. I do think there is some niacin in some of my suppliments.  I make sure to take them with food as most are fat soluable

This seems like a lot, but I'm feeling normal, two days after I started these. I felt good again. I purchased the largest vitamin weekly grid to put all these in.

badmojomn wow! Are you losing weight at a steady pace with taking all of those? I have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks and at my age that's pretty good IMO. I feel pretty good, but my energy and mental clarity could use some boosting. (And pooping on the regular would be awesome too!)

Terrafarm1 take psyllium husk caps at night. Maybe 1 during day with water. 2 at night. I'm sedentary, but still weight falling off. They are not an issue. I do skip some doses once in a great while. My mental clarity of fully back now. I'm not going to take the last 15 or so  pounds off real quickly. If I did regular light excersise, possibly. The last 20 is the hardest. I'm down 2-3 pant sizes.

Terrafarm1 the first 6-10 is typically water weight. The rest can take months to melt away. Just be patient. The less you have to take off, seems like it takes longer. Remember - it's not a race- it's a marathon.

badmojomn it's hard not to reach the 1500 calories with the fat I need. According to my macros, I have to eat 1000 calories just from fat at that leaves 500 for protein and carbs. Protein alone in a medium steak and two eggs are 400 so no room for anything else, it's hard to find the needed balance

alegarza7 Yeah, don't look at the scale for at least a month. Keep on track. The fat literally starts to melt off. I bought some jeans twice to small from Poshmark and I messed up on the sizing. I couldn't pull them over my middle thighs. Now I can almost 4 months later.

alegarza7 In a few months maybe you won't need to track - like me. I'm eyeballing everything and keeping net carbs on the brain. Already have had multiple fasts in morning because I'm not quite hungry.

badmojomn yeah, I'm fat adapted already but I've if I eat carbs it takes me like 2 days before I go back to keto instead of 12 hours. I've been very good but it was my daughter's birthday and I ate what we had at the party. It does take a while before I get back to ketosis
