Macro Calculations

Can anyone recommend a good macro calculator?  When I enter my current  profile info into no less than 10 online macro calculators, I get completely different results for each one using my same profile info?  What are you doing? Any advice is appreciated.  I am just starting the Keto Diet on Carb Manager.  Have been on it one week now and haven’t lost a lb.  The macros assigned for Keto are 75F/25P/5C.

  • In my opinion, just stick to one that at least "feels good" to YOU!! Everyone is an individual going through all the same things but maybe in many different ways. I too use Carb Manager, (CM) but ONLY to ensure I am good with my macros. KEEP IT SIMPLE or you will go nuts with all the millions and millions of social media avenues. High fat, moderate protein and low carbs. For ME on CM, based on a loss of 1.5lbs a week I'm allowed 1,012 net calories, 13g net carbs, 79g fat and 63g protein. I stick with 5-10% carbs, 15-30% protein and 65-75% fat but often find myself closer to 80-83% fat and I don't see an issue with that at all. Whatever works for YOU!! You MIGHT not be loosing weight because it takes time for each individual to be "fat adapted". This means that when you start this your body is being fueled by carbs and has been for some time I will assume. When start feeding your body according to the ketogenic diet, your body will switch over from burning carbs to burning fat. My carb intake is never more than 10g carbs per day and average approx 6 carbs a day. Again, KEEP IT SIMPLE. Add the food you will eat in CM and just watch the counts. Scroll over the pie chart and it will give you your percentages also. Just make adjustments to meet your own goals set out by CM. I only do very light exercises maybe 3 times a week. I will soon change that to a bit more.... like 10-12 different "moves" a day. I'm in this to loose a bit of weight and I have for sure but I'm feeling so great and wonderful with more energy than I've had in forever!!!! I've been challenged with cancer and the late affects it brings and will be with me always now and I have some major "eating & swallowing" issues but I can still manage this so if I can do it so can YOU :-) We can all expect to NOT loose weight one week here or one week there. Go ahead and weigh yourself every week or two - I do - but look at the big picture instead. I've lost 13.5 lbs. in 35 days sounds more rewarding than, "I only lost 1lbs this week"..... I'd love to be able to say, say "I've lost 30 lbs in 60 days" for example. It's the big picture and remember all the health benefits that a ketogenic life style is bringing to you!!!!!! I'm already at the point where I'm just loving my life so much because I'm just feeling so so so much better and now the weight loss is like a bonus!!! DON'T give up.... Keep on doing what you are doing!! Good luck to all and to all.... Happy Ketosis :-) Cheers, Joanne PS KEEP IT SIMPLE!! I can never say that enough :-) PPS Drink a mixture of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) in water with a splash of lemon. I drink about 2 cups a day. I ALWAYS take a swing before anything goes into my mouth.... JUST before a meal and ALWAYS just before bed. Usually first thing in the morning before I have my POWER Coffee (Bullet Proof coffee: MCT oil, regular butter & several spices that I have researched that are extremely beneficial for your health). Have fun with it. I've paired up with a friend out of town and we share photos of our meals and experiences as well as ideas/suggestions/information between us. Laugh through a few cravings and so on. It's all working. Keep it up!! (Gosh I get "wordy" :-)

    Mj

They are the percent of Fat, Protein, and Carbs per day.  Enter your info into the Carb Manager app and it will calculate your daily requirements.  Then just start entering the food you eat to stay within those numbers.
