Carb Manager way off on carbs for asparagus

I haven't been enjoying eating asparagus because CM attributes a lot of carbs to this vegetable. I've done some research on asparagus and I've found consistent information on- line that CM is attributing too many carbs to asparagus. One ounce of asparagus has approximately .3 carbs (total carbs minus fiber). So an 8 ounce serving of asparagus has 2.4 carbs (not that I'd ever eat that much). I entered an 8 ounce serving of asparagus in carb manager and it comes up with 5 carbs which is double what all the nutritional sites on the internet have for 8 ounces of asparagus (total carbs minus fiber). Asparagus has a lot of fiber.  I'm also finding that when I enter a recipe (the same recipe) into different nutritional sites almost all the sites have the same carb and fiber content for the recipe. When I enter the  same recipe in CM I find that the total net carbs are always quite a bit higher than the nutritional sites. I don't know which one to believe. Any help here?

I’ve noticed this as well. When in doubt, I just google the carbs in whatever food I want to know about. Then I choose the one that most closely matches or I will edit an existing one (or choose an edit).

  • Like the answer above me said, edit or create your own food item. Broccoli seems to be off also, just realized yesterday!

Thank you for asking! I noticed this too about asparagus and broccoli. What other sources do you use for carb counts? Most of the stuff seems accurate... hope this is it.
