It’s definitely amateur hour for me. I logged all that I had for brekkie and discovered I have maxed out my carb intake .... 🤐 this is definitely going to take some time to adjust. Does anyone have any beginner suggestions? #KetoSOS

  • I try to stay around 10 to 14 carbs a day.  There is a book online called “30 Meals” in five minutes, 5 CARBS, and with 5 ingredients. It is written by Vicky Ushakova and Rami Abramov.  My husband who will not give up his carbs loves the Tartar Shrimp which is made with avacoda and shrimp with mayo.   We also loved the lasagna.  I make 8 helpings and put it in the freezer in individual containers for later.  

    They also have one for Breckfast and deserts.  

    I usually have fried , scrambled eggs and bacon.  I might have a salmon cream cheese, and caper omelet.  I might just make a small steak.  I also make egg,  bacon, broccoli , and cheese muffins.  You have to keep an eye on these or your family will eat them.  You can use any vegi you like or not at all.

    Do not for get that there are Atkin Bars with about 3 grams of carbs each.  there is a Chocolate Coconut Bar (2.8  carbs), Cappucchino Nut bar (3.9 carbs) , Chocolate Brownie Bar (3.1 carbs), Chocolate Chip Crisp Bar (2 carbs) and it is my favorite.

  • I make coffee with 2tbsp butter and 1tbsp coconut oil. It keeps me super full until lunch

  • rochelletarynphotography09b8 My brother loves these coffees. I haven’t yet to try them, can you make these coffees with any coffee? Is it better with plunger coffee? Instant coffee? 🤔 thanks so much for your suggestions 👍🏼

    I prefer plunger or nrewed to instant. Instead of butter I use cream

    I am glad you liked some of my ideas.  We should keep in touch.

    For Breckfast I had 4 ounces of baked salmon.

    I also had a hamburger patty from Burger King for lunch as I was on the road.  It was a 5 0z patty  0 carbs.

    Tonight I am having deep fried squash 8 oz is 4 carbs and country style ribs 2.6 oz  which is 0 carbs.  I do not worry about fat and I am able to flour these with no problems.  My Keto sticks are at 80.0 Mg/dl. Which is good.  So far today my carb count is 6 grams.

     I started January 1 and have lost 13 pounds.  I usually hit a plateau of about a week sometimes, but I do not worry if stick is purple and I have been told that during plateaus you lose inches (I have had two one week plateaus this month).

    P.S.  Here in Christchurch I have found a greater variety of Atkins bars at Countdown as apposed to New World.

  • Beverly Avery hiya! Yes this journey is certainly a lot of trial and error until you get use to it. I do find I am consuming less and conscience when shopping. I bought some Atkins products last night from CD to aid my snacks during the day. I really need to invest in some kitchen scales so I can weigh everything. Thanks for the tips!
