Am I crazy?

I've been attending Weight Watchers with minimal success.  I do love the workshops, the accountability and the people.

Also find that intermittent fasting works for me, 16/8.

Am I crazy to attempt to add Keto to the mix?  WW friendly menu with lean protein, green veggies and healthy fats?

I think my first trouble spot is keeping the protein down and the fats up.  What can I do short of chugging olive oil to meet the fat quota?

Thanks,

Tina

Avocado, cheese, bacon, coconut products, heavy whipping cream, butter, MCT oil, avocado and olive oil.  See if you like bulletproof coffee.  Fat Bombs.  Adding fats to your food on the plate.

I read somewhere about Slim-Fast keto fat bombs. I found them at Walmart today for $9 or so. Tried one out, man it was tasty!  It really helps get my fat grams up without the protein being added to my daily diet.

Also, day 3 and I'm showing positive for ketones on the test strip. 馃槏

I鈥檓 thinking of incorporating Weight Watchers into my Keto Diet as well.  Not sure how successful I will be.  My husband and I have been on Keto for almost two weeks and are beginning to struggle with what to eat.

  • That sounds too stressful lol!! As long as u keep your carbs at/below 20-25 you will stay in ketosis. Im not sure about weight watchers meals but doing both is too much lol pick one and stick with it

  • AND You don鈥檛 necessarily need to meet your goals for fat. Your body will never have to use its own fat for energy if you keep supplying it with outside fat sources

Kelly I'm finding it "okay" combining the two plans.  I do certainly exceed my given points in a day, but I try and make the best choices that I can.  I weigh in on Tuesday.  That will be interesting.  :)

Mrsmillerrrt I don't have to meet my goals for fat?  I thought that was one of the big differences between Keto and Atkins type plans?

Well, so far so good.  I think.  As I mentioned, I weigh in on Tuesday.  We'll see how it goes.  I *am* in ketosis if the keto-sticks can be believed.  Cravings are pretty much diminished.  In fact, I am finding it difficult to muster the desire to eat!  <OO>

I did go off plan a tad yesterday.  We went out to lunch with friends.  Making the best choice I could, I chose "Angry Clams" which was littleneck clams with chorizo sausage simmered in a butter/tomato sauce.  Would have been fine if I hadn't eaten the toasted baguette slices that came with the meal.  YES, I should have asked they be left off the plate, but I didn't.  Then, after the clams were gone there was the delicious sauce to sop up.  Oh well.  Test strips today indicated that I am still in ketosis.  Or is there a delay?  How long after making poor food choices are you kicked out of ketosis?

    Well, thanks for listening.
