Keto n00b here!

Hello! I’m a mom of 4, full time nurse and full time student in an NP program. I just started Keto 11 days ago and it’s getting easier every day. I’ve only lost around 5lbs but I’m focusing on how I feel more than how I look.

Any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated!

I’m a doctor trying this again. My problem is tracking, figuring out my magic macros. I usually get too much protein. Getting there. I have 4 kids. 😊

    Welcome

I have found that drinking water making sure you use mct (med chain triglycerides found in coconut and palm oils) helps me alot

  • bobbiemd I tend to eat a lot of protein. I’ve noticed too that I’m no longer hungry so sometimes I have to force myself to eat. I supppse that’s where the “fat bombs” come in!

xtinealicia Welcome. I’m glad you decided the join the low carb world. As a health professional, it can be difficult with nay sayers in your line of work. I can suggest if colleagues ask you about your dietary ways because they noticed you passing up the reps bagel bags, to just simply say your trying to avoid white flour. I am also in the medical field and have had so many side ways looks when I tried to explain to them ketogenic and get negative responses the majority of the time or a verbal novel from them why carbs are good for us.

Take some coffee to the deck and just start reading the threads, starting from the beginning of the posts. In an hour, you will have some good basic knowledge to get you through.  I really feel like if my own envorminement is controlled, I personally do better but sometimes that isn’t possible and can be quite challenging for some. I work from home now, thank goodness, and am not near reps bringing in bags and bags of fresh bagels. They were my crytonite for sure, and still are a year into ketogenic.

Badmojomn  I can totally sympathize with what you are saying. The break room is my nemesis, especially working 12’s on the weekend. It is very hard to try to explain to coworkers in the health field why I am choosing to fuel my body the way that I am. I would love any pointers or suggestions from how any of you handle this at work
