Hi I am week twelve feeling terrible too . Big issue the potassium I think to get your hands on ready advocados is my issue. Sick of being sick went to dr got bloods all normal accept blood pressure and cholesterol of course. No surprise. Also sick of bathroom issues. I eat spinach and egg say one morning a week otherwise BPC then big salads for lunch with protein and veggies and protein for dinner. I have also used fat bombs . I was using poweraidezero zero but worried about salt now in it is so high so trying to stick to water and lemon. I just had half banana as I am fed up with feeling ill. I take mag multi vit calcium d3 if I could find potassium in a pill I would take it!!!! I also have apple cider vinegar and exercise most days at least five times week. Not sure how much longer I can hold on if I can't function and looking I'll. Had my bloods just checked and ecg I thought iron low but noo it's not. I think we either need to go to KETO dr or nutritionist who specialises in this area. One nutritional ist just told me I don't recommemd Keto it puts your organs at risk meaning kidneys and yes I am having swollen ankle if no exercise and fatty liver. Soooo question is it really worth it !!!! I am now not so sure? Week 12 down 20 pound but have more to go . Thinking maybe to get off the keto ride amd have a break go back on later gor another twenty. Stick to low carb and less fat not high fat ??? Ahh hope u guys are having better week than me that's for sure!

soniakircher00 you can find potassium pills online. Also magnesium pills gave me headaches. I think some of my minerals have some magnesium in them. Your feeling like crud because you still could have keto flu. I went through a situation about the same time as you I felt terrible. It passed for me. The really bad feeling took a few weeks or more. I feel great now. This is the point in time where I may suggest carb ups in the evening only if your fat adapted and was keto. Meaning are you checking urine or blood? Have some berries a few nights a week or a very small portion of potato. Very little. See if that helps a bit. Eat a lot of fats and apparently your doing well on water. You need potassium tho twice daily until you feel well again. And another multi mineral that has just about everything in it. It's very uncomfortable for some people and do not worry about how much sodium your ingesting. Get your kidney function tested if you haven't already.

soniakircher00 I did a lot of research and with your situation you must consult with your doctor even if the doc isn't keto friendly. You just tell them this is what your doing. The blood pressure pill - is this a diuretic one? That would be making you sick- this pill with keto. See if doc will let you cut back for a few days the dosage. Remember - keto needs a lot of water and potassium. You may be feeling ill because your taking a diuretic blood pressure pill and the kidney is screaming for more potassium and water. I'm going to assume your a bit dehydrated. If your not in danger of reall high bp, call doc ask to take half the dose and see how you feel in a few days. I don't know what med your on but most bp pills take the water out of the sYstem and that's counter active with keto. Get an arm cuff and stethoscope for your home to help keep track as you go along. Taking bp is really easy.

soniakircher00 also. You have to question how high your bp really was. Was it borderline, really high, not in the " you need meds" area quite yet but let's get you on some now. The modern medicine is a tricky one, along with the standard American diet ideations. I won't even go there, but sometimes we need to question our own doctors and do our own research.

Hi thanks so much yes thirsty all the time and issues going to the bathroom! I will go to dr today. I am on very low dose half the table she said to start for blood pressure. I may even have a virus I feel a sore throat and hot so that's also possible I was thinking. Yes I am also going to see a dietition tomorrow to talk about keto diet. Something has to change. Geez its a bit of a joke isn't it you desperate to lose weight get healthy and you get sicker. I wonder do you see a Nutritionist whilst on keto diet?. I have had two say to me they do not recommend Keto long term it can shut organs down and they don't recommend it for their patients. This concerned me re kidneys etc I might need a new gp this is just a clinic I go too. as well. I had bloods done I was worried about sugar ect or iron and feeling sick but that was all normal ?? ahhh lol annoying . thanks for your replies i really appreciate them . Hope you are well . I see so many people well on keto is very frustrating lol

Hi apologies for late reply well its bascially I had a virus it sent my blood pressure through the roof. I had to go to hospital and was told I have to come off keto too much processed foods bla bla bla. So now I am attempting to do 50carb per day ect without sugar to see if I can still get results. Blood pressure is all over the place and that is what is making me feel ill all the time. I didn;t know I had an issue until 12 weeks on keto he processed foods with salt I think helped to push it up. We all different wish the best on your keto journey. I have learned soo much from keto just need to adjust again to try to feel better.
Thank you everyone

soniakircher00 You will ultimately find a lot of resistance from regular family doctors for ketogenic. There is no proof that ketogenic long term shuts down your organs. That's preposterous! I did a lot of self research on the internet specifically on the health benefits of long term ketogenic. You may be mineral deficienct and that could be why bp shot up. Did they run sodium and potassium tests? Taking a blood pressure pill while on keto- this is something you need to research. What was the bp?

soniakircher00 Albeit you can slowly move to keto after 50, just have a bp cuff at home to monitor. Monitor sodium intake, and see how you feel. That bp pill, you should be able to kick after your body gets used to it. It's actually proven to help people get off bp pills. Dehydration I think can shoot up bp, or even fluid overload. If you felt swollen when you went in or dehydrated- makes sense. Also the virus. My bp went from 104/65-140-79. I'm not concerned about this. It's going down now.

soniakircher00 try to get a copy of the blood draws. What they consider in the "normal " range - could be symptomatic for some. Try to get a recheck in 6 months. If your on the lower side or higher side - you can still have symptoms. I found this out with thyroid. I'm in "normal " but it jumped up to high normal and I exhibit some minor signs my thyroid is off.
