Calories burned reduction for macros accuracy.

I'm new to this, I have my FitBit synced to affect my calories and macros with the steps and exercise I do. Is this accurate to stay on track or should I turn this off? I don't want to not reach my goals due to something that simple. Thank you!

I'm new too and would be great to know.   But, after thinking about it a little more today, it makes sense to keep the steps activity in there... You're still wanting to NET your calorie goal.  and as with any workout, you have to consume more calories to keep up your energy.

  • I'd love to see how CB gives you "credit" for Fitbit activity. If I actually ate the extras allotted to me through my Fitbit activity, my calorie deficit would always be ZERO.

Right now, I have my Fitbit synced but I'm not deducting any calories that are being tracked by Fitbit.

I would also like to know if it really is best to have the macros adjusted with exercise. Some ways I think about it it makes sense. And then I think it doesn’t make sense. As someone who just started keto today, I want to make sure I’m not technically going over macros.

I would not recommend using fitbit to deduct calories for the dimple fact that fitbit is not very accurate. Sit and move your arm back and forth and you’ll see your steps increase. Also driving your car will increase steps dramatically. Not a good idea to rely on fitbit data for tracking calories!

thank you! I turned off the deduct calories/macros before I finished my first day. It was skewing my numbers so much that it was allowing me to eat way more than I should. I understand the concept but I have a desk job so it’s not like I’m exercising hard core or anything to need those extra calories/macros. 👍🏼

Sandy I’m really not sure. Have never used one or know anyone who has one.
