Okay 😱 we’ve all been where you are emotionally Ely believe me. You are not alone, sticking to Keto (if this is your plan) works but first it’s time to focus on what you want most, because to do this you need to read older posts, educate yourself a bit (loads of info out there in cloud land) you can’t over read on this subject but then it’s time for action, shopping, planning, thinking ahead to avoid caving in at the first hurdle or social invitation you receive. You need to feed yourself well. We are here to talk to but it starts with you & your head.

Joanna  thank you soooo much, trying my best I can do this. I appreciate all the support I can get as friends and family are watching me and telling me I'm nuts.

3879bcb0  it is sometimes overwhelming, starting a new way of eating. What helped me in the beginning was making sure I had low carb options in my kitchen so when I was tempted to blow it, I could reach for something low carb. If you have a sweet tooth, make some fat bombs -lots of recipes online or Instagram just google “low carb/keto recipes- to have around. Make sure you make note of carbs per portions in these recipes; they taste so good you want to eat MANY.

If you’re craving something fried, buy some pork rinds, crush them in your blender dip your food  in egg then crushed rinds and fry.

Read as much as you can about this way of eating, it takes awhile to get over the fat that’s allowed (fat? I can’t eat fat?) but you need a certain amount of fat a day to turn your body into a “fat” burner. All our lives we’ve been told fat is evil, good fats are not.

You’ll feel lousy the first week....Keto Flu...but you’ll be amazed how much better you start feeling and the pounds you’re losing after  week or so. Good luck and use this forum for questions and encouragement, it’s a great source.

3879bcb0 once you know why Keto works & how, you will be able to slowly reassure & educate them. Anyone eating bacon, butter & the likes looks mad with all the diet history out there. So why has low fat dieting failed us? If you have time, take a look on YouTube Leanne at Healthful Pursuit (some things she eats I don’t but she is balanced. Susan Peirce Thompson Ph.D. ( you can lay the science on your family but mainly why we cave in & are addicted, I will never eat Any sweetener) I didn’t mention keto to anyone except my husband, I just said I have cut sugar, artificial sweeteners & carbs apart from non starchy veg. I didn’t say anything else but 19lbs down after 6 full weeks people are starting to ask so what do you eat....

i went cold turkey, I can’t tease my taste buds with sweet alternatives the cravings have gone & went quickly. Keto flu can hit some people for weeks but again, extra fats of all kinds the first 2-3 weeks, extra sea salt all help. As will old posts here they are full of experiences. Well done big hug 🤗

ps mybloods have improved to normal from possibly  needing statins

i am very generous with my Himalayan pink rock salt too😋
