Hi Lynn, welcome to the group 馃憢 there鈥檚 so much to learn I agree but if you stick to the basics for the first couple of weeks and Read/listen to something like Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore as the weight comes off and the more you read you are going to get so motivated by this.
I find it so easy now. I don鈥檛 count calories, I don鈥檛 know how much you want to lose nor anything about your history. we are all so different ~ this is just a simple example up to 20g net carbs per day, it鈥檚 okay to eat less if you want to but most have over 15g, no sugar artificial or otherwise, moderate proteins & lots & lots of fat ~ don鈥檛 worry too much the first couple of weeks about anything except carbs & sugar, add lots of good salt, too. Keto salts get highly rated when starting out, I use MCT which is zero calories and is found in breast milk for babies. The idea is to switch your body from using carbs to using fat for it鈥檚 fuel. There are loads of posts about what fats are out there 馃榾 best wishes.
Once you get fat adapted hunger disappears and for me, so have cravings.
