Exceeding Protein Daily

Hi,

I'm on day 3 and have been exceeding my protein daily amount.

Any advice? What happens if you consistently eat too much protein?

Thanks

What are you eating that is high in protein? Can you find an alternate food source to get in more fats?

Gluconeogenesis is a process in which your body will take excess protein and convert it to sugars. Say what?? Sounds really weird, but it does happen!

scjudd1986  Thanks for the information !  I'm definitely going to watch my protein now!  Thanks.  I've been eating a lot of meat! What are some of your favorite things to eat?  I'm on day 5 and already getting bored.  I need ideas.

    RhondaH

My daily breakfast is a bulletproof coffee. Coffee + 2TB of butter + 1TB MCT oil. It comes out to 36g of fat and holds me pretty well into lunchtime.

Lunch tends to be egg salad, tuna salad, or lunchmeat and cheese. Not the best of choices, but it's easy to prepare before I leave for work. Always try to balance out the protein with more fat!

Dinner is where the fun comes in. Check out recipes on Pintrest. I have made a few desserts from recipes found at www. Keto Connect . net which have always left me satisfied and not like I'm depriving myself of sweets.

My personal favorite is using Fat Head dough for various purposes (pizza crust, bagels, garlic knots, etc.)

RhondaH MCT oil is derived from coconut oil.

So basically, coconut oil contains short-chain, medium-chain, and long-chain triglycerides. MCT oil contains just the medium chain that are the best of the three. Very healthy fats!
