More than 20 net carbs??

Hey guys,

Really sorry if someone has already asked this (I haven't been able to find anything).

I started keto this week and installed the carb manager app (which im really happy with so far). When I entered my age/weight etc. It set my cab allotment to 29 carbs per day but everything Ive read so far has warned that less that 20 net carbs is necessary for ketosis. Which do I follow?

Side question... Im having trouble nailing all of my macros at the same time, either I get fat to goal but calories and protein are over or dont get fat there and am low on calories. Which are the most important units to hit my goals on every day (besides carbs).

Thanks!

Im new to keto myself but from what I’ve read and the advice I get... you want to have 5% net carbs, 70-80% fat and 20% protein. Hitting the carbs it most important and the fat. Don’t get hung up too much on the protein number. Great you tube info by Dr. Berg and Dr. Berry on all kinds of Keto advice.

  • Its so wrong, as much as I love Carb Manager the calculater is so off. I wish they would fix it. But if you want to lose then yes under 20 carbs. Join Keto Revolution and you will learn a lot.

  • Thanks so much for the replies, Im still waiting on my test strips but I went ahead and changed my carb intake to 20 grams just in case. I'm gonna focus on hitting my carbs first, then fat/calories and then protein as the least important goal.
