Weight loss question!

I started keto on 07/30, and I don't seem to be losing any weight! I don't understand because I only give myself one cheat meal and other than that I eat clean. I see people losing so much weight just away and I'm discouraged :/

  • Hi Lyla, please keep going. I started a program on 6-28 and I have lost 20 pounds on the Keto plan. I have 40 more to go but I already feel better. In the beginning I wasn’t eating enough so I wasn’t losing very fast, once I got the food scale I started losing more. I have faith in you! Good luck!

  • Hang in there Lyla.  I've recently begun myself and it's taking forever, even put on weight.  Be reassured it does work and perseverance will pay.

  • Lyla..  I know how you feel.  I started 8/14 and have now GAINED 3 lbs.  I’m very discouraged since I track and meet my macros and have not had any cheat meals.   I can not figure out what I’m doing incorrectly.    I’ll keep going but if anyone has tips... please share.

    take a screenshot of your your Daily Foods say for yesterday and post on here - or maybe your last 5 days maybe someone can spot something.

  • Ej is it necessary to meet all your Macros?  I try on my Protein but lack on the others.

    I don’t 🙀 I meet protein and lack on the others also. 

    I have started to take some MCT oil but only for a coffee hit before the gym ! And only 3 ml.

  • Ej yup have started MCT Oil too, add 2 tsps during the day.  I drink approx 3 coffee daily and think my Equal Sweetener Tabs may pose a problem.

  • Dee Do you have thyroid problems?  Any autoimmune issue (ex.  Lupus)?  Are you over 65?   Do you have a history  of weight gain/ weight loss??

  • TeeGee I am 71, but had a full physical workup in March and no issues.  As for the weight gain and weight loss... yes, I have lost and gained weight for many years.  Other than being overweight at this time, I am in good physical condition.   Thanks for your help.   I just want to make sure this is a diet that will work for me.

  • I was given some advice yesterday which may assist you; meet your FAT macro daily whether it is by MCT oil, butter, full fat milk/cream etc.  Try at least to meet on a daily basis 80% fat and 15% of protein (5:1 ratio).

  • Dee good morning 💕 You May be adding water weight? Do you drink anything other than water? Have you been exercising? I know that regardless of the diet you use, when you build muscle they retain water until they get established. Stay faithful and keep pushing!!

  • Borinobabe22 Thank you so much for posting.  This group has really helped.   Yes, I drink nothing but water (one cup of coffee in AM) and exercise moderately (walking).   But the GOOD NEWS IS... this morning I had a sudden 4 lb loss so I'm sure it just took some time for me to get macros right and my body to adjust.   Hopefully the loss will continue now at a steady, healthy pace.   Thanks again!   And Thanks to  TeeGee   and Ej
