702 calories??

Hi, I am 159 lbs and recently started Keto. This app suggested 702 calories a day. Does it seem right?

No, that sounds way too low.  I suspect you entered a very aggressive weekly weight loss goal and the app used that as the basis of an impractical set of diet goals.  It doesn't seem to have any minimum recommendations.  I manually set the calorie goal for me and my friend and backed into the macros.

That's to low. You can only loose so much per week. I aim for 1 lb a week and I need about 1500 calories for that. I think you need to lower your goals. You will never stick to a starvation diet like that

its the same for me. As I’m losing weight, my daily calories are going down and so is my weight loss.  I actually gained weight this week and I did 20-22 hour intermintent fasting for 5 of those days. so discouraging. I was doing better when I was doing about 1400 calories a day.

Queen Kimmy If you cut too far back your body goes into starvation mode and clings to fat for survival.   This is especially true for premenapausal women.  I have always heard that 1200 calories was the minimum for women, although I'm sure it possible to get a more accurate personalized number from a nutritionist.  When I stall a little, I cut way back on calories for a couple of days, then go over a couple of days and it knocks things loose.  Getting the same calories every day for too long seems to slow my weight loss.  Status quo in food equals status quo in weight for me.

Moondrake thanks for the tip. I think i figured that out. I reset my calories to 1430 daily. I was cruising along with that amount. It’s just that the app lowers my calories as I lose weight. I turned off the setting and will just continue at that level until I plateau. Plus I just watched a video about OMAD and it is recommended that you keep you calories up and a small deficit each day is okay. Otherwise you will kill your metabolism. I should have know because I’ve been reading Dr. Fung’s book on fasting.
