Frustrating cooking low carb & regular high carb for family

Just wondering how many of you cook the low carb meals for everyone in the house,  or just family that’s doing low carb?? Plus regular carb foods for the rest of the fam??

Im on my second week and it’s been a transition for sure. My daughter and I are doing low carb. Usually around 25-40 g netcarbs a day.  I feel like it’s so much harder to deal with temptation if I also cookmac n cheese or rice and beans for the rest of my family 😭😖  My husband has eaten a few of true low carb dishes but throws out squash or broccoli. He does NOT need to lose weight and will end up losing weight for sure on this😮 today I made him and my youngest

BBQ chicken with pasta shells and cheese.

I feel like I’m about to taste it while I’m preparing it... it would be SO much easier if I didn’t have all the carb stuff in the pantry but he doesn’t get it.

What do you guys do??

  • genrosadoe9bd I cook for the family regular food and this is my third month... At the beginning when you are trying to ignore temptations it is super frustrating but as the time goes by, it's botheres less. Try some recipes where say main dish, like BBQ meats are good for all but side dish is either low carb or not.

Currently I am fasting very often and rearely eat dinner, so I don't care and funny enough food preparation does not induce desire to eat. And if it does, I have a cup of tea or broth.

I know it doesn't help but you are not alone

  • I know what you mean. It does get a little bit easier. I feel bad sometimes b/c I don't cook like I used to. We normally have red beans and rice on Mondays, but today I think everyone's just gonna get a stouffers lasagna.
