Feeling dehydrated is common when starting; your body’s dumping a lot of water and will continue to do so for some time.
Just my opinion, but water’s the best choice to remain hydrated. I see lots of comments in here about Gatorade Zero, etc., but my readings keep coming back as ‘not necessary’. As a point of reference, I’m 6’1” and started at 265-lbs (now 205-lbs), and I’m drinking 25-35 eight-ounce glasses of water a day.
One think about hydration and water - when in ketosis, your body dumps sodium. A LOT of sodium. Increasing your sodium intake up to around 5grams per day will help replace your losses and ease feelings of hydration (appx 2 1/2 teaspoons of table salt gives you 5 grams sodium).
Hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you, I’m trying to drink as much as I can. I’m drinking a lot but right now doesn’t seem to be enough. Lol. I will continue to try to increase my water and add salt like you said.
i have been doing a lot of reading (maybe too much) because there is a lot of talk about dehydration, potassium, magnesium etc.....
So, I wasn’t sure if I needed a supplement for those minerals as well.
i appreciate your help. 😀

Pat F Be careful of water intoxication. If you drink 35 eight ounce glasses of water per day, that's 280 ounces, which is more than double the recommendation of 125 ounces a day for a man. Your kidneys can only process 27-33 ounces of water per hour. If you drink significant amounts of water per hour over that, it can lead to water intoxication which can have serious complications. I used to do a lot of weight training with a male trainer who was body building and while he was trying to lower his body fat for a competition, he drank excessive amounts of water and ended up hospitalized because of water intoxication. So just be aware of how much you are drinking per hour.
