End of week 5 ~ 16lbs down & loving Keto π
I can't thank everyone here enough, all the great advice & encouragement. ππ»ππ»ππ»
I now usually eat my first meal anytime between 12noon-2pm and a second meal between 5-7pm fasting between evening meal & next day's noon 'ish' meal. Occasionally I have some organic macadamias or organic almonds late afternoon. I don't otherwise snack. I don't weigh food, count calories or carbs. If I have something 'new' I check net carb content per gram & weigh the first time I eat it so I can see what to have thereafter it's 2 plates per day end. Easy so far I know, I may have to get more accurate to lose the remaining 28lbs (5' 10") but I currently feel liberated from counting food π I enjoy my food and am not hungry.
On the health front: I am being referred to a Cardiologist my fatigue started months ago, other symptoms in May/June so not Keto related! I go for bloods today & ECG next week. Thank you for the push to go to my GP (UK) without losing some weight I am not sure how bad I would have had to get before going to see her!

Joanna. I had fatigue so bad about that week and longer. I thinks it's due to keto. I actually felt like there was something wrong with me, almost like I had one foot in the grave. Really really doggy like no energy for even people talking to me. My doc just told me she thinks I'm hungry , so not supportive of keto. She ran basic tests and everything was fine. Get some liver helpers and thyroid helpers. Minerals. Etc. I have a feeling your tests will be fine though. Keep us posted.

badmojomn will do thanks. The fatigue has been increasing over the last 12 months, long before Keto (which did make it worse admittedly) but this week I am weak/ a bit short of breath doing basic things like emptying the dishwasher! Plus stone like sensation in my heart sometimes. (Was this your experience?). I intend to remain Keto and I eat healthy oils & avocados. My Dad had an M.I. at 51 my brother a heart attack at 41 so whilst I am positive by nature, I am conscious of horrendous family history (tip of the ice berg stories). Wish I had discovered Keto years ago not at 56!

Joanna no I didn't have those feelings. Yes. Get a full work up. Blood,( anemia check , thyroid for sure ) ekg, maybe a stress test. Short of breath is a danger sign of a fib and heart valve issues sometimes. Monitor your heart rates, and track them. Take it easy until you get your work up. Don't eat heavy meals. If it's cardiac in nature, heavy meals ( large portions) are a no no. No "straining" either.

Thanks, taking supplements but not today as bloods done at 4pm were last done in April & wasn't deficient then. ECG next week and a follow up 'telephone appointment' booked. Referral to cardiologist meanwhile, who knows how long that will take. I am going slow & gentle, can't eat big meals now anyway thank goodness π Bit scared to fry my mushrooms in butter.... do not taste so good with olive oil π Scrambled eggs with avocado oil yum, lettuce, Himalayan pink rock salt & black pepper just enjoyed.

Hey there, reading these - good luck and so glad youβre doing work up fur this. You probably know this but women cardiac SS are indeed a lot like youβve described. With ur family history Iβd sure be doing this as well. Pls do keep away from the high saturated fats and triglycerides til you know status (!). Shake a tube of fresh drawn blood after eating a hamburger - or heavy cream or cheesy eggs - and it looks white !!! Just waiting to plaque up arteries (!!!). Youβll know real soon. Meanwhile olive oil and avocados βΊοΈ All best to you Joanna !!!
