Anyone do weekly 24hr fasts?
Does anyone do regular weekly 24 hour fasts? I just finished my first 24 hour fast. I like to mix up my eating times a bit and do 16:8 IF often. I've found by upping my fat to 80% and doing IF I can usually break through plateaus.
My typical GKI is right around 3, varying from about 2.95 to 3.1. Right before I did the 24 hour fast my GKI was 3.02. I tested at the end of the 24 hours, prior to eating, and my GKI was 1.94. I've read about some potential health benefits of going to lower GKI's a few times per year. The 24 hours was actually much easier than I anticipated. I never had any serious hunger pangs, was never light headed, etc. The next time I may try 48 hours and see if I can get close to a GKI of 1.
I'd be curious to hear from anyone that does regular 24 hour fasts, whether weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc. At this point I think I'll probably do a 24 hour fast at least every quarter or something. For those that have done it multiple times I'd enjoy hearing your opinions and what positive or negative effects you've had.
