Fat macro

Hi everyone, I just started Keto today so please forgive me if this is a silly question, but I have a question about macros...my recommended amount of carbs per day is 25, I assume that the lower I keep my carbs the better, that’s pretty obvious. But I’m just wondering about protein and fat...the recommended targets seem high, and although I did meet the protein target today I did not meet the fat target. Am I correct in assuming that fat like carbs is better to be lower? Or is getting enough fat each day an important part of ketosis?

Nope wrong.  The doctors were wrong.  Try to hit all 3 targets as close as you can, by planning in the morning or the night before your two meals for each day.  You only need 2 meals.  To hit the fat targets (that's your fuel, if you don't eat enough of it you're out of fuel), I have just coffee with coffee cream for mornings, for lunch I have 3 extra large eggs with any cheese I have on hand and mushrooms and a little peppers sometimes, and I bought MCT oil at costco which I squirt the frying pan with that bumps up your fats.  About a half to one tsp.  Add a half an avocado with some seasoning and salt or lemon juice and that's lunch almost every day.  Easy, cheap and perfect for getting on target.  Dinners are normal - hamburgers, fish, steak, shepherd's pie topped with mashed cauliflower instead of potatoe was soooo good.  Cheese helps bump up your fats and pepperoni sticks such as Nick's Sticks are grass fed beef help me round out a day too.  I like the spicy beef, I don't love the plain ones myself.  Hope that helps.  You can do this.  Last tip - stay out of the aisles in the grocery store.  All you need as against the walls.  Produce, meat, fish, done.  Ok coffee and almond flour are in the aisle.  That's about it!  Wishing you best of luck, you're gonna love the results.
