Getting back on track

So after a week, I'm back to tracking and strict keto. I went to visit my boyfriend who I haven't seen in more than a month. For the first few days I didn't track but definitely avoided carbs. Might not have worked great because I was eating a whole lot of meat and cheese and all that protein was probably not doing me any favors. The last two days of my trip is when it all went south. We went to a Japanese BBQ and had a whole lot of meat again with salad and broccoli. The dinner came with dessert which was s'mores. I was so happy to be having such a great time with my bf that I said "screw it" and had a s'more. Then, the day before I returned home we wanted a special dinner since it will be more than one more month before we see each other again. So we went to an Italian restaurant. Bye bye whatever trace of ketosis was left. I don't feel guilty because I made the choice and I'm ready to jump back in. While I enjoyed the meal very much it taught me a lesson and I think it's something I won't let happen again. There's always a way around such situations. So today I'm back to tracking and had a very nice keto breakfast. I have also given myself a challenge of 45 days of strict keto starting tomorrow. I'm still new to this so small steps and attainable goals like this will help me get more into this lifestyle.

I have dedicated myself to start tracking again- technically, I plan to be more consistent than I ever have especially with measuring, etc. However, in my eyes, you are a rock star for committing to 45 days! I told myself two weeks! My kids are gonna be on a trip with my parents this week so I’m hoping that makes it easier!

I struggle with going to the meat and cheese often bc it is just SO MUCH EASIER than cutting up the veggies! #inserteyeroll. What are your go-to’s inregards to leafy green veggies?? Always looking for new ideas!

Best of luck with your goal! I hope you post often so we can follow and support you!

tynerr just reading the thread, my go to veggies are so easy....

lettuce, with cucumber, a few basil leaves, really well seasoned with rock salt & fresh ground black pepper plus olive oil & balsamic vinegar dressing ~ goes with anything 😋

sliced cabbage fried in butter, takes 3 minutes

    mushrooms fried in butter

sometimes I have fresh spinach or watercress both raw.

so dinner might be a 4oz steak served with the salad above and on top I add a mushroom, cream and peppercorn sauce which is simply cream & peppercorns added to fried mushrooms stirred briskly for 20 seconds & spooned on top 😋😋

Doesn’t get much easier than my way of eating......  bulk out your protein with the veg once fat adapted and the weight will drop off.
