More clean carbs please!

General net carb question. I read that Ketosis can maintain at 50 or less grams per daily intake. If this is indeed true:

When I have my app set for weight loss goals, my daily net carb is 18-21. I would love to eat a bit more veggies if I could have more carbs. As in more servings of clean minimal carbs like raw kale, spinach. Not arguing with it  or looking to pig out on carbs, just curious about the science of it- why max net carb is lower if I can stay in Ketosis under 50g? Been going for a few months doing good :)

I'm within .1 lbs of my goal and am looking at switching up my macros.  I too would like to get in more veggies, but the low carb limit tends to hold some of those back.  As to your question, I think you would need a way to test if you are still in Ketosis or not if you increase your carbs.  I plan on turning mine up gradually and see what happens with my test strips.  An extra 5 grams of carbs would go a long way.

Hi, in maintenance for about 2 years. I’m currently low carb not keto shooting for 85 g total carbs. Everyone is different depending on a lot of factor.  Many people can remain in ketosis on 50 or less total carbs which allows for more veggies.  Some even higher. Experiment on yourself.  Eat up to 50g and test your blood not urine.  Hope that helps:)
