Keto Maintenance info

Hello, I’ve been living the Keto life for 10 months to lose weight. I’m planning to continue a very low total carb count for another 2 months and then move into a lifestyle of maintenance. Unfortunately I’m not totally clear on how to do this.

I’m wondering if anyone has come across helpful resources or info about maintaining weight loss while transitioning from a strict keto diet? I’m very happy with the success I’ve had and I’d like to spend the next 2 months preparing for how to live this new life. Thanks!

  • I have a ways to go but I would think that you add food back into your diet and see which one makes you gain.

hi I read that you increase carbs by 10% but initially fruits and vegetables ,  and decrease fats and increase proteins and see what happens - apparently you then carry on increasing carbs and proteins until you find the correct balance of macros for you to maintain

I would think, switching the Macros Calculator to a 0% deficit would be the place to start.  That's my plan anyway.

Stealing text from the Settings => MACROS section, under Smart Macros:

"Smart Macros will automatically adjust your macros goals as your weight changes. We'll recalculate your macros each time you add a new weight measurement, and switch to maintenance goals once you reach your goal weight. This is the most precise way to stay on track, as your macros will change as you lose or gain weight.

Please be sure to setup your profile, macros goals, and goal weight (Settings > Health Goals) to effectively use Smart Macros."

I don't use Smart Macros, but since I hit my goal this AM, I set my macros to a 5% deficit and it says I'll lose 1 lb/mo.
